PMD-E . M7 Prelude . p1

All of Tao Village was in chaos. With near half the residents missing, along with the guild leaders, it was complete madness. No one knew the exact cause of the disappearances, or where the residents had gone.

The timing couldn't have been any worse for those staying at the Frostbloom Inn. They knew there was safety in numbers, which now had been effectively cut in half. Briar was missing, which met Cael was alone to watch over Sophie right now. Klein was gone so he couldn't help watch over the ralts either. Luckily Elara, Sophie's teacher, had taken over as second guardian.

Even more unusual, all of the Bandit Bros had disappeared. Everyone assumed that one of the three have vanished while the other two ran off to try and fine the missing member.

Those left at the inn were all in different sorry states, even a few days after the disappearances. Jack's mood had been rather foul, and probably only grew worse once he was forcibly recruited to help out at the Spinda Cafe like all the remaining merchants.

Eva's mood was even worse, the tiny joltik pretty much withdrawing completely and keeping to herself in a corner, shocking anyone who got close to her. Between Dusty's disappearance, the stress of previous events and being in a rather unfamiliar area instead of the base was far too much for her to deal with.

The only one who didn't seem worried about their missing partners was Sia, who actually hadn't had contact with Duan since Sophie was rescued. She didn't even know if he did disappear!

At the moment the ones looking after the inn were Sia, Kay and Eva, though really with Eva's stubborn silence it was almost like it was just Kay and Sia.

Sia flopped on a couch beside Kay, shaking her head. "This is bad... if it wasn't for so many other random pokemon missing I'd have said Drogo was behind this but... even while it's not this is too perfect an opportunity for him. I'm surprised he hasn't sent Duan to harass us already." She glanced at the corner where the joltik curled up, shaking her head. Eva needed to snap out of her sulking!

Kay hugged her knees, looking at Eva mournfully. "When will they come back?" She asked, "I miss Klein and Dusty and everyone else too!"

As the two spoke there was a soft knock at the door and then a moment another set of knocks louder as if the source figured they'd knocked to lightly the first time.

Sia glanced up, everyone in the inn tensing. Finally she got up and walked to the door, hesitating only slightly before opening the door. Drogo would not knock politely... "Yes?"

The culprit was a cubone, who looked about ready to knock on the door again with the bone in his hand when it opened. He looked at Sia for a moment, before pulling out a envelope that said 'For rogues' on it.

"Oh... thanks." She took the note. "I'm a rogue, I'll take it." She glanced at the note, wondering what it was as she smiled at the cubone and closed the door, walking back to the couch. "I bet it's a new mission." She glanced at Eva as she opened it to read.

Inside the envelope had two notes. The first explained that someone named Chex needed Rogues to assist him at Alomomola Bay because Anana wasn't paying enough for his services and he needed full payment to finish the job as he wanted. And that it had to be done quickly cause the kid didn't want to stay in the bay long.

The second message was smaller and read, 'All other Rogues are busy and I was told some live here. You need to come with me now so I can get this done quickly. So lets go'

Sia blinked, jumping to her feet as she read both messages. "Oh shit, that WAS Chex!" She hadn't recognized him in her worry about things. She dashed back to the door and opened it, looking out sheepishly.

Chex was standing there, arms crossed and tapping his foot on the ground. When the door opened he swung his bone towards Sia's face, of course not hitting her but getting her attention. After letting out an annoyed squeak he turned to walk away, expecting to be followed.

Sia winced at the reprimand. "W...wait! I... need to gather some stuff..." She said, leaving the door open as she turned back inside.

Chex meanwhile, seemed annoyed by the slowdown but stood outside, waiting impatiently with his constantly tapping foot.

What to do? Chex obviously needed her enough not to let it slide if she said she couldn't go, specially since she was free... "Eva, Chex needs us for a mission, we have to go now!" She rummaged for pen and paper and jotted down a note for the others, leaving it on the bar.

Eva glared at Sia when she heard that, half the population of the village was missing and they had to go on a mission?! Not wanting to waste the energy to argue though she finally stood and came out of her corner.

"Kay you'll have to come with us, there's no way you can stay here alone till the others get back." Sia added as she walked towards the door.

"But..." Kay stared. "I'm a rescuer, not a rogue!"

As the group was heading out to leave a pidove flew over to the inn and landed on the ground looking inside. "Excuse me? Is a 'Team Spark' live here? This was the location I was given."

Kay was beside Sia, grudgingly following. She lit up at the Pidove's words. "Oh yes! That'd be me." She nodded, "Well, I mean I'm PART of Team Spark." She said quickly. Sia smiled in amusement, but glanced at Chex with an apologetic look as the cubone tapped his food quicker from his impatience.

"Ah good! I'm sorry for the intrusion." The pidove said, going through his mail bag. "I have a mission for you and your team. Here you go!" He handed the letter to Kay before quickly flying off, making mention that he had many more deliveries to do.

"You realize that you can't do a mission on your own right Kay?" Eva asked softly, annoyed enough now to actually speak.

"Well, yeah but..." She opened the letter, then squinted at it, "I can't read..." She mumbled, shoving the note to Sia, then looking at the second sealed note inside the envelope. "Huh, and this?" Sia was reading the first note and looked up quickly, "NO wait don't open that one!"

Kay paused just as she was about to rip it open. "This note says to take that one to Anana, in Alomomola." Sia explained. "It's getting too dangerous to send it through regular post, and Fresnel wants to make sure you actually get it to her hands." Sia glanced at Eva, "We're heading to see her anyways, this is perfect!"

"Well isn't that convenient." Eva muttered with a roll of her eyes. "Well what ever. Lets get going." With that she walked towards the door. "Sooner we get this over with the better.

Sia nodded, waiting till they were all outside the inn to close the door. "Alright Chex, lead the way!" She smiled, offering a hand to Eva to let her clamber on.

Eva looked at the hand then looked away, just walking on her own. She didn't need to ride on Sia and she didn't want to.

Chex nodded, turning and leading the way. It was about time they got moving!

Sia watched Eva totter off and sighed as she straightened. "Suit yourself, but it's a two day walk to Alomomola." She muttered, walking off after Chex.

Kay keeping pace beside them, putting the important letter away in her pants. "Two days!?"

"I can walk on my own perfectly fine." Eva muttered, making no comment on how long the trip would take. Two days walking... well that was just great.

Well, here we go! It's cutting it a bit short but it's finally time to start submitting M7 for PMD-E. As you can tell, this one is NOT going to be in comic form. Originally it was planned to be but... our story just got too long and we would have had to do too many pages to do the story justice (That and real life has kicked us both in our lazy butts).

Instead you'll be getting images and a story! The images are what we will be submitting for judging, simply cause Karu and I do not have writting apps. XD; Yaa... *coughs*

We hope you all enjoy this! Karu and I will be taking turns posting all these and we apologize for any inbox spamming you might be put through for the next few days.
